We have to read this journalism critically and sceptically, but if we don't read it at all we cut ourselves off from a lot of important information about things which are happening in the world. If we don't read it at all, we also don't learn how our opponents see the world, or what they are thinking.

I have a hugely ambivalent relationship with the Guardian, but I do read it frequently.
