Last year (I think it was last year?) someone did a really cool post about Halloween being better than Christmas from a political point of view and I wondered if anyone remembered it, or saved it, or wrote it?
It was about Halloween as being anarchic as in being outside and sociable on a neighbourhood level, loosening up, being in disguise.
Whereas Christmas is a stay in your house, 'nuclear family', conservative holiday.
