Dont worry Chris! I don’t take your comments negatively, we are both learning/exploring. We are only a fraction of the truth.
I don’t think Bitcoin will fail because of this btw. I don’t think Bitcoin going to $∞ is success nor do I think Bitcoin going to $0 is failure. Fiat is not the measure of success/failure and both are possible and likely scenarios because of this.
I have held an increasing amount of space for the possibility that Bitcoin (as we know it) has to die/fail so that Bitcoin can truly live. A necessary step in the process invoked by us; as we impose (by fiat) our definition of “money” upon Bitcoin, rather than it imposing the definition upon us.
Genesis happened. Success is certain while the path is uncertain. So long as Genesis is preserved in memory, Bitcoin shall succeed. No other block truly matters in the grand scheme of success. It’s our individual images of success that must change; none of us know what it looks like in Bitcoin.
None of us know the future or the path of Bitcoin, correct. None of us even understand Bitcoin. We can only understand it as a collective, as it redefines knowledge and money through its eternal memory. We each have a unique slice of the truth to bring to the table here.
We must change with it and transcend with it. “Death” is only the beginning, for Bitcoin, our egos and the promise of salvation/freedom in all domains.
I am personally enjoying the process and journey, I am open for whatever the future brings. I know it my heart that I cannot authentically make Bitcoin “better” for myself or the network if I double spend.
