that said, I'm not actually on the boomer/gen-x hate train. I don't think the average person bears responsibility for what our government does, because fundamentally I don't believe it actually responds to the will of the people. That responsibility, in my opinion, is reserved for politicians, lobbyists, and people who defend them despite not having any control over what decisions are being made.
It would be nice to have a more open dialogue between the generations about the specific problems being faced and how they might be solved, without it devolving into name-calling on both sides, but that's not an easy thing to accomplish, particularly at a national scale with millions or billions of dollars on the line motivating the breakdown of such talks.
