Holy shit, Disney made something topical that isn't just slobbing the knob of the machine? And it's actually good?? Between this and the Muppets reboot, what the heck happened at Disney where they're somehow capable of making things that don't suck again?? Did they finally fix the gas leak in the offices??
I'm always put off by shows that showcase racial ideals via predator and prey dynamic tbh, like. What you can typically read into that kind of narrative is either something like "well minorities actually WERE dangerous, but we've civilized them" or "white people are the real victims" hfgshsfdgas
I'm glad it sounds like they've moved away from that tone. It doesn't seem to be the tone of With You, Our Love Will Make It Through either which is nice because this also tbh bothered me about Beastars and it was the only furry anime for a second there
