What would you do if you win? You'd get your money back & you could move elsewhere. Courts are rigged yes if it's an illegal apartment they will cover their ass first & give you 3 days. After that you can go to small claims.
If they call the cops on you call it retaliation for prosecuting them or sueing in a small claims. It's illegal to falsify police reports. I knew someone in that situation & they beat the landlord by keeping documents of everything they do. Every text conversation, every reciept, & rent increase. Courts about what you can prove.
