The trouble is the fancier sorts of gasket I'd rather use for this are £££ (like £30) and are really only supposed to be single-use. So the question is whether I risk spending twice on the gaskets if the cat itself is fucked.
That's quite aside from the question of whether I risk a strangely cheap cat, versus a second hand rusty looking cat (they all look a bit shit), or a more £££ new cat.
My ideal is to get this done by next Saturday so I can redo the MOT within the 10 day free-redo-MOT window.
