Google is once again ratcheting up control over the android ecosystem I'd like to raise a point about what "“developer verification" means in practice:

It took us (well [@dan_ballard](https://kolektiva.social/@dan_ballard )) months to go through the verification flow because the company google uses to "verify" organizations had gathered a whole load of data about us that was just wrong; really wildly wrong, "annual sales numbers" and "number of employees" plucked from lalaland, incorrect addresses etc.

It's just a farce.
