Ah yes, Masto.host is a managed Mastodon hosting service. That means admins who purchase a server there share the resources with thousands of other admins, which keeps the price down, but it is not as fast or as flexible to modify. It is like a hotel where you rent only a room and someone else manages it for you. It works well for non-technical people, but I am technical. For example, we cannot implement our custom features on Masto.host at all https://help.mementomori.social/mementomori.social/instance-features
We rather choose to run our own "hotel" in its entirety, server for our own people, without sharing it with any other management or having it overcrowded.
