It's #gaad. The day companies will trot out their 1 blind employee, or their marketing copy, and pretend accessibility. Meanwhile the Webaim Million shows things are getting worse. The Amazon Kindle library on iOS hasn't been accessible with VoiceOver for months. Even ventures paid well, like AI apps, are less accessible on Android than they are on iOS. Capchas are becoming less accessible. New technology is created for us that we cannot afford. And when you contact company accessibility, you're generally treated to someone who doesn't know about accessibility or someone who cannot deviate from a script and thus cannot actually help you. But the voices of actual disabled people, especially today, will be drown out by all the company hype. And tomorrow, all the companies will pretend today never happened. Meanwhile we cannot stop being disabled.
