"content": "On 20th October 1952, the British colonial government declared a \"state of emergency\" in Kenya, in response to a concerted campaign by anti-imperialist fighters known as the Mau Mau.\n\nThis was a response to decades of British colonialism and land grabbing policies pursued by British settlers. The Kikuyu were displaced from their ancestral lands and forced to work as low-paid labourers on European farms, leading to widespread poverty and social unrest.\n\n1/\n\n#History #EndImperialism #UKPolitics\nhttps://syzito.files.fedi.monster/media_attachments/files/117/473/457/930/212/641/original/ab08e1f00cdf8f0f.mp4\n",
