Life in the wild is all about violent survival, you either kill or you find a way not to be killed. What makes humans different from most other life forms is that we have the ability to insert reason into our thought processes between observation and action. We can choose not to be violent even though our natural instincts tell us to be. Sadly, not enough people even care enough to consider the choices let alone make the right one.
