I think it's possible for personality to be masked, even pressured to change. I was a smart kid, so you would not believe how many people anticipated that I would be a huge rationalist hyper-logical nerd. I kept wondering why people looked so shocked when I got the rare chance to act out. Once failed a challenge to 1st Clarinet, because my performance was too "emotionless" and "logical." Probably should have punched the teacher in the face for cheating and looking around the concealing screen, but I was too emotionally devastated to do much at that point.

And my parents are both pretty damn introverted. We never had anyone over. They didn't talk to their neighbors. Didn't go out with friends. I never had playdates. In fact I was like 9 years old and I walked down my street and found out my friend from school was living just a few houses down from me. They couldn't even do that!

So I kind of had to teach myself how to "socialize" with "people" when I got to college. I did, but all those years of being held to a friendless routine took a toll. So am I an Introverted, Intuitive Thinker, or an Extroverted Sensory Feeler? Well one thing's for sure, I can rattle on for quite a while.
