Whether attempting to start, fight, and win a revolution against rule by a tyrannical empire (the American Revolution) , waging a war to more fully realize equality in a democracy (the first American Civil War), or insisting on a genuinely pluralistic, secular democracy absolutely committed to equal rights for all - the fight for liberation and equal dignity cannot be won without people revealing that they are on that side. 8/
