I think the reason queers and trans people are always at the top of the list when fascists start fashing is because being queer and/or trans is *fundamentally liberatory*.
As in, the mere existence of such beings *proves* that liberation is possible and desirable, that happiness is not a curse, and freedom that is separate from social mores is not only possible, but exciting and dynamic and inspiring and gentle and good.
And if this is so, then fascists have no place in the world.
