Aaaand, after buying the GOG edition, installing it, figuring out why the DLC disappeared, idly fiddling with the Steam version, wiping and reinstalling *that* but for Windows, running it under a bunch of different Proton versions...

I tried setting the runtime to "Steam Linux Runtime (scout)" and waited for more updates to download, after which it Just Worked.
