Big old watering WfH-Wednesday #allotment trip... things are really drying out fast right now... whilst I am a big fan of raised bed growing, it does bite a bit when it is dry. Watered some of the new outdoor plants/sowings today, and deep watered the asparagus.
There's still plenty of moisture deep in the soil though and our regular polytunnel/greenhouse watering has paid off in terms of soil moisture under cover. Pretty soon, maybe a fortnight away, we can start planing out the key covered crops.
Nice to see we have some ume fruit set again this year. Not sure how many, they're mainly still tiny nubs. This year, if they hold, I will need to find a way to protect them before the bastard birds dissapear them in the space of a day again.
Things are kicking along, as ever just never enough time... especially between All The Things that Need Doing.
