How do you decrease gender-based discrimination in mixed-gender teams.... simple: make a woman team leader!
'in one experiment a male or female team leader was appointed, with big effects: “Assigning a female leader reduces the rate at which individual teammates discriminate against women by more than 50%.”'
Its an easy move to make but how many men will agree to be led by a woman... and therein may lie the problem!
