Some of the discussion around VTubers has always been puzzling to me... I might be in the minority, but I've always seen a chuuba stream as nothing more than an amusing puppet show. They caper for my amusement, and I might throw nickels at them in appreciation. But the idea of a parasocial relationship or an emotional investment in a hand puppet is a little odd to me.
Like, sure there's a person with their hand up inside the puppet, but I neither know or care who that is, or what their personal life is like. All that shit is off stage, and should stay there where I can't see it because I don't give a shit.
