I recently had to reset my Firefox For Android settings, so took the opportunity to change the default search engine away from Google. I chose Wikipedia because I tend to want Wikipedia articles for topics anyway.

Turns out, it's great! I can type in something like "Swedish national service" and get the Wikipedia page for all countries that require national service.

But then I found that Wikipedia can sometimes do unit conversions too: if I search for "9 meters to ft", the excerpt from "Kamuning Footbridge" conveniently tells me the approximate answer of 30 ft.

If I'm looking up the hours for a chain restaurant, I can search their name for their Wikipedia page, navigate to the chain's website directly, and find their up-to-date location info, with no search engine to spy on me.

For when Wikipedia doesn't have exactly what I need (eg "BU406 transistor datasheet"), then switching to an actual search engine is one click in Firefox.
