Chudsky 2.0.0 - 2026-09-28
First release as Chudsky, forked from Husky 1.7.0-beta2 under the new
application ID social.ree.chudsky.
- Add: Misskey support, over Misskey's own API: MiAuth login, MFM, the
home, local, social and global timelines, lists, posting with
scheduled notes and, on the forks that can, editing, reactions, link
previews, translation, memos, thread muting, and live updates and
notifications. Sharkey, Firefish, Iceshrimp, CherryPick and the other
Misskey forks take the same path.
- Add: Mitra support: groups (their posts, members, tabs and management),
post titles, account management (password, sessions, aliases, moving
and deleting), who can mention you, muting and following conversations,
post previews, IPFS links, and moderation for admins and group
moderators.
- Add: UnifiedPush notifications.
- Add: Two-pane layouts on foldables and tablets, with fold-aware media
and a setting for which side the timeline is on.
- Add: Translate posts on the server, with DeepL or LibreTranslate, or on
the device.
- Add: Edit posts in place on servers that support it.
- Add: Mastodon and Mitra quotes, and quoting from search results.
- Add: Reply previews with the original note's excerpt and media.
- Add: Mention avatars below note authors.
- Add: Grouped notifications, a choice of whose notifications to get,
unread counts on the notification bells, and read markers sent to the
server.
- Add: Live edits, deletions and chat messages while the app is open.
- Add: Who reacted with an emoji, on every server, and reacting to
reactions directly.
- Add: Removing followers, withdrawing follow requests and the profile
directory.
- Add: Cache settings: how long the home timeline keeps posts, how much
storage the media caches may take, and clearing them.
- Add: A cache of their own for avatars, kept for a month, so they no
longer pop in after scrolling through media.
- Add: An autoplay setting for animated media.
- Add: Moderation warnings in notifications.
- Improvement: Features are offered only where the server supports them.
- Improvement: Compact like, boost and reaction notifications.
- Improvement: Single-row navigation headers with scrolling icon tabs.
- Improvement: Follow the system's dark theme instead of the time of day.
- Improvement: Crop profile images in the app's own screen.
- Improvement: Faster timeline scrolling, rendering and caching.
- Improvement: Larger avatars and display names in the mention list.
- Improvement: Accessible chats, labelled formatting controls and larger
post action buttons.
- Improvement: Target Android 17 (API 37), still supporting Android 7.0
(API 24), with Material 3.
- Improvement: All Kotlin with coroutines; RxJava and LiveData removed.
- Improvement: Dependencies only from Google and Maven Central; Blobmoji
15.1.
- Improvement: Chudsky's own strings in Spanish, French, German, Russian
and Simplified Chinese.
- Fix: Upload images without their location or camera details.
- Fix: Keep camera photos, drafts and shared media in private storage.
- Fix: Revoke the token and delete an account's data on logout, and keep
access tokens out of streaming URLs and logs.
- Fix: Harden exported entry points, share intents, OAuth login, link
opening and media downloads.
- Fix: Notification replies go to the right post and account, and can be
retried when Android refuses to start them.
- Fix: Unsent posts are saved as drafts, and unsent chat messages go back
into their chat.
- Fix: Poll counts and closed polls, reporting, search, muted domains,
lists, scheduled posts and the profile media grid.
- Fix: Crash on Pleroma's list visibility.
- Fix: Drop the setting that hid the top toolbar, and with it the only
way to the drawer and the settings.
- Fix: Name who boosted a post by their username when they have no display
name, and keep post actions at the bottom of posts with mention avatars.
