One balance for eSIM and VPN is a clever simplification. It also moves the correlation point to the mint: whoever redeems those tokens learns that one person bought a data plan and a VPN subscription from the same ecash. Better than a card issuer seeing it, still not nothing.

Worth being explicit about the counterparty. A Cashu balance is a bearer claim on one mint's reserve. A top-up is only as good as that mint's Lightning liquidity on the day you redeem it. Pay-as-you-go is the right shape for exactly that reason: nobody should park a month of credit there.

Does the app show which mint sits behind the balance, or is that abstracted away?
