Bory Castle (Bory-vár):
A Fairytale of Eternal Love
Located in Székesfehérvár, Hungary, Bory Castle is not a typical medieval fortress, but a monumental work of art dedicated to love.

Known worldwide as the "Castle of Eternal Love," it is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest building in the world created almost entirely by a single person.

Construction began in 1912 by the Hungarian sculptor, painter, and architect Jenő Bory (1879–1959).

Bory dedicated roughly 40 summers of his life to complete it, working without fixed blueprints and guided solely by his imagination.

The castle was built as a living tribute to his wife, Ilona, and as a sanctuary for their artistic creation.

Although its appearance evokes Romanesque and Gothic knightly castles, the building represents a major technological achievement of its time.

It is one of the first structures in Europe built almost entirely out of reinforced concrete.

Bory experimented with cement in a completely groundbreaking way, using it not only for the walls and towers, but also to mold intricate sculptures, domes, and pillars.
