the sexism women deal with in my culture is much less obvious in some ways. It's the expectation that women will do the invisible work and men will take the credit in public. For my family on my dad's side, Jewish American, the women were in the kitchen doing the cooking and the dishes, until my grandfather came in to carve the main dish. That kind of thing. I didn't know my mom's family. They are kind of a mess.
