I've started reading a book (about Pascal) from the 80s that started with the usual "what's a computer?" spiel.
But then the author actually said that 5.25" diskettes were called "floppies" (so far so good), whereas 3.5" ones "stiffies" (?).
Now, after calming my inner Beavis down, was that actually the case somewhere, maybe some quaint UK -shire?
