For the moment, you can use the Add Network Drive button to enter the URI of the server. Same syntax as in GNOME Files since it's using gvfs. Then you can add a remote path as a favorite in the nav bar with Ctrl+D.
Sometimes I see my SMB server, but I also notice it not showing up more often than not.
