a young girl at church the other day was advised by her mother to ask me about parakeets -- i've had many over the years, and the girl is interested in getting a pair. so we sat down and she asked me very good questions about bird care etc, and she asked where she might find more info. i had to caution her about trusting online sources for pet care as it's all AI slop now. i picked up an old copy of the same book i've had for years, going to give it to her next sunday.

is this what all the technological advances of the last 40 years have come to? "don't trust the internet, kid, go read a book instead"...?!?!?!
