As Israel continues to slaughter and starve people in Gaza, UCLA just shut down a screening of The Encampments—a documentary about students protesting U.S. support for Israel’s genocide. There are now dozens of police on the UCLA campus blocking access to buildings and cordoning off Royce Quad. Students planned to watch the film in the same place where they were violently attacked last year by armed mobs of Israel supporters and campus police. A student wearing a keffiyeh has already been arrested.
A pro-Israel instigator stood in the same spot today shouting into a megaphone for hours and no one bothered her.
This is a public university shredding the First Amendment in broad daylight just to silence criticism of Israel.
