Today's #grandma recording mentioned her job in the orphanage during #WW2: Her father would rant every morning at breakfast, how it can't be, that he only earned 0.38 Pfennig working in the forest and a snotty (?) girl like her gets 1 Mark per hour instead. She made 450 Mark in those months, but then the French soldiers from Morocco came and looted it. The family would have been able to claim it the next day, but they didn't know about that, so the money was gone for good.
