I've been digging through the source code of SDL3 and the relevant documentation for x11, and if I'm reading this right, it looks like x11 has an elaborate decision matrix for whether or not a touch event gets sent as a touch event or a mouse event and SDL just kinda does its best to undo that before applying its own decision matrix to on whether or not to hand you a touch event or a mouse event, which I also don't want 😩
