Witch Hunter Siegfried (nprofile…dp7l) There's not enough left to reconstruct, and the lefties aren't the problem. I've read all the books on this (there aren't many)
Best you're ever going to have is a von List who reinterprets Christian adaptations of Germanic culture as veiled heathenry, and even with him, interesting though he is, it's ultimately made up schizobabble. It's his fan fiction of what he thinks heathery should be, but it's really more reminiscent of a Hellenic mystery school, certainly not Germanic in nature, except superficial labels overtop the structure.
What does neopaganism have in common with the past? It isn't connected to old mystery schools which is where institutional religious beliefs (rather than customs) actually came from pre-Christianity. The neopagans don't seem to realize this, and tbh it wouldn't matter id they did because you cant reconstruct a mystery school, they're mysteries, so they just operate like Christian churchrs.
None of them are living the lifestyle of the old Germanic peoples. The type of praxis resembles American Protestantism, except with images. They also don't have the same relationship with gods that ancients did, which was largely transactional. They stan the gods like they're a sports mascot. Really these aren't the same gods in anything but name.
The closest thing they have to something ancient is runes, but again, the mythos around them is extremely speculative, and so they resort to making shit up, this time ripping off Judaism. Rune mysticism is a Kabbalah ripoff, except Kaballah drew from actual ancient mysteries, runes are more like "How would we present this type of system to people who have jobs?" It's just a worse version of the thing they're trying to rebel against.
"OK, well maybe they're more trying to channel the pagan soul, and the reconstructed practices are just aiding that."
Well, maybe, I've seen that case made, but they're doing a bad job. The largest groups number in the hundreds, and all the philosophers who tried this thought neopagans were gay. Neopagans idolize Nietzsche's philosophy, but every neopagan I've met is fat as fuck, or dysgenic in some other way. They don't take care of themselves and don't live particularly heroic lives at all, they're just fat uneducated hicks. Neopagans love Hitler, but Hitler thought the whole movement was gay and full of dysgenic losers, and openly disavowed them and named their institutions. Neopagans love Evola, who more or less made the same point as me despite at times calling himself a pagan. Paganism is a fiction. The people trying to reconstruct it are, ironically, attempting to build something that Christians invented as a strawman because it was obviously worse than what the Christians had to offer.
The most spiritually pagan thing you can do is lift weights, have lots of kids and be active in your community, tell and retell good stories, and stay as far away as possible from this fake neopagan nerd shit.
