I feel like gun happy people just want an excuse to shoot people. Maybe at one time it was one of the main ways of protecting your family but there are so many non lethal protection methods these days. Let me list some:
1 Fences
2 Gates
3 Guard Dogs (Mean ones)
4 Cameras
5 Burglar Alarms
6 Stun Guns
7 Tasers
8 Tear Gas
9 Tranc Guns
That's just off the top of my head I'm sure there's many more
