If one needed, even, to come up with arguments for the severe limitations of machine based [{anything}], one could do worse than reread Kuhn's STRUCTURE OF SCIENTIFIC REVOLUTIONS.
It makes clear that science -- the pursuit of understanding the world that exists outside of human experience -- requires a body with which to experience the world.
Science is inherently about the body in the world. Relativity, electromagnetism, quantum theory, and all of the computational arts, abstract as they might seem, arise from concerns of living as a body in rhe world. Intellect is required, but a body is the basis for our need to understand.
If you've never read it, believe me, its an antidote to the shit-spew of the current crop of technologists. It's the stuff they dont know or care about. It's about the difficulties of attempting rigor while living in a messy body in an unknowable world. Its a reasonably easy read, the enlarged 2nd edition is ~200 pages. Its old (1962) but reads like new. It will remind you what it is you might care about.
