I ran over a gopher snake once on my MTB. It was stretched out across the trail after a curve. I stopped and went back to check on the snake. I shooed it off the trail, and it was moving well, smooth and graceful, no obvious difficulty. I don't know if you can tell if a snake is hurt by how smoothly it slithers, but I hope it was all right. My bike is very light (and I'm not super heavy) and I use low pressure fat tires, so, maybe?
