Ok I think I understand your point. I understand that being "nominally open source" isn't the be all end all of software, but IMO your initial criticism lacked specifics to the point of being misleading.

From what I understand, all your concerns are related to Typst being written in Rust. I don't think I'm alone in not immediately identifying the Rust compiler as a potentially problematic dependency (with how standard it's become). It would have helped being more specific.
