yeah but saying the hammer won't ever be used by men for murder isn't the same as saying that surveillance is inherently good. If you believe it prevents crime, I have a bridge to sell you. It MIGHT make it harder to escape prosecution, but that doesn't prevent crime from happening, look at London.
