Ok, I guess I'll vote for Newsom, the guy who is fighting the billionaire tax, who buddied up with Charlie Kirk, who has thrown trans folks and unhoused people under the bus. Or should I vote for Harris, the candidate who helped perpetuate the genocide in Palestine while serving as VP, who campaigned with hedge fund managers by her side.
Harm reduction would be demanding that candidates consistently support and fight for the rights and well-being of all their constituents, particularly the most marginalized ones; and for a world free of oppression and abuse. Or, better yet, a society free from politicians entirely, for a world in which the common people organize and work together to manage their own affairs, without the mediation and control of politicians who are in bed with the rich and powerful.
