For now, it is. There's no other way to explain why Apple users keep buying new devices other than "cultish lockin". They're the same as last year's model/version with a new # slapped on (and a new somehow worse UX). There hasn't been anything truly innvoative or ground breaking, yet at the yearly reveal party they add sparkles and double the RAM and everyone loses their minds like they just invented the transistor.
