I keep a pair of HEAROS High Fidelity Ear Plugs with me if I potentially will end up at a live music event. They are earplugs with a tiny air hole such that the sound should not be distorted much and mostly just turned down. The only issue/perk is that it is extra difficult to hear people that are right beside you.
