I'm pretty time poor at the moment, so I took the path of least resistance and just bought a new PCB for the weather station.
I've confirmed that there is definitely no conformal coating on the board, so that's the first job before I put it in service.
I think I will design my own board for this too. I've some ideas for what I want to add in terms of sensors.
