And now turning the monitor on, it seems the issue I was thinking was down to capacitors was probably related to this break instead, as it isn't doing it now.

The image progressively got brighter the longer the monitor was on, making me constantly have to dial back the dark level until it reached minimum. I guessed it was either caps or the tube itself.

So I *may* be in luck with that fix, as it's now not doing this anymore (so far at least, I'll get back on here about it if it starts again).
