"content": "Seeing as I had to dig a hole I turned it into a visual soil assessment and a worm counting opportunity. \n\nThis is in a raspberry bed. In the last nearly 18 months it has been broadforked twice and regularly hoed and weeded. It has had thin mulch layers applied to the surface of manured compost, home made compost, leaf litter and wood chip.\n\n40 worms were counted from 30 cubic cms of soil.
