My challenge to all of us (self included) is not to accept the framing "x resulted in y in the past, therefore if x happens in the present, y will result."
This applies whether we're talking about countering fascist activity or doing things of our own: everything happens in context. The "same" thing can happen over & over & over, but the context changes every time.
You have to ask yourself "what could be different this time? What would have to happen to result in a different outcome?"
