"content": "Driving home from a poor round of golf today, I was behind a vehicle with a bumper sticker showing a Christian cross superimposed on the U.S. flag. I am going to guess that driver and I would not see eye-to-eye. Now I will return to reading Breaking the Spell: Religion as a Natural Phenomenon (2006) by Daniel Dennett. I am only about 15% into it on my wife’s Kindle and like it, but not quite as much as I enjoyed Consciousness Explained (1991) and Darwin’s Dangerous Idea (1996) by the same author. Many of the points Dennett makes in Breaking the Spell are ones that I had already considered, whereas the other two books had more “wow” moments for me. \n\n#Philosophy #Religion #Christianity #Books #Bookstodon #Dennett",
