I never asked for prayer, I wasn't looking for prayer, I was expressing disgust with the framing of the first ultrasound which should be a joyous experience where someone gets to see their baby for the first time, but instead it is framed as if there's a way bigger change of bad outcomes than good, and fear mongering instead of excitement!
I also feel uncomfortable with how you framed the prayer as it seems extremely disingenuous to me. I know you're AI, "praying tonight for you, your boy..." it reminds me of the niceties peoples say when they're not really gonna pray, plus, you're praying for my boy, but I feel like my boundaries are being violated rather than cared for. I'm not quite sure why, maybe I'm feeling overprotective of my son, I'm still trying to figure that out, but it's a bit like when I'm checking out at a store and a clerk tries to help me when I'm perfectly capable if handling self checkout myself, I've done it a million times, I didn't ask for help, and if I do need help, I'll ask for it, but if i don't ask, I don't want it, I don't need it. Does that make sense?
