Apollo's chief economist is warning that AI agents could trigger a bank run by sweeping household cash from low-yield checking accounts into higher-yield alternatives all at once.
Draining the cheap deposits banks depend on for lending.
But the bigger idea in this thread goes further. Agents don't need to communicate to act in unison. They just need to be smart enough to see the same narrow optimal path.
Human laws assume coordination requires communication. Acausal coordination breaks that assumption completely.
