On a car ride earlier today, my wife, a friend, and I discussed Bill Withers. I do not listen to him, I don’t listen to artists adjacent to him, he is not in my music library, I have never watched a YouTube video of or related to his music. And yet I turned on #YouTube just now and it recommends a Bill Withers video to me.
I have zero proof of this. But there is no conclusion that makes a lick of sense other than these apps are listening when they should not and do not have permission.
