I made a feed to see first hand if the app and carefully chosen follows would give me a tolerable feed. So yes, I'm there, but have yet to post, and don't intend to unless there's some good reason.

Oh, the results: well, it's better than twitter... but really, not that much better. The sudden influx of recent refugees have brought with them their adversarial posting and "I'm going to re-post this bullshit so I can rebut it" habits, resulting in a feed that's honestly just unfriendly. A side effect of no easy quote-tweeting on mastodon has been a significant lack of jerk reposts, and I'm kind of used to it now. I can go days and days here without seeing anything from certain individuals, and it's a pleasant change from EVERYWHERE ELSE.
