Made it to Italy! Our first night was at [La Posta Vecchia](https://www.pellicanohotels.com/en/hotels/la-posta-vecchia-hotel/ ), a lovely seaside hotel in a villa restored by J. Paul Getty in the 1960s. It's decorated with some beautiful pieces including this fine [Piranesi](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giovanni_Battista_Piranesi ) map, the [Ichnographia Campi Martii](https://spencerart.ku.edu/art/collections-online/object/57 ). There's a small museum for the 2nd c. BC Roman villa in the basement.
