#theWorkshop Y'all know what I've been up to for the past year, right? The Retrospectrum prototype? https://rezmason.net/retrospectrum/drawing

Yesterday I was planning a refactor with a friend, and it's vanilla JS, so I said "I just need to settle on a way to build an app without a framework" and he said "You should use Web Components."

And I skimmed the literature on Web Components, and they looked good, and so I concocted a little plan, and went to bed watching videos about Web Components, which then thoroughly kicked the standard-loving shit out of it.

Can anything on Earth be as bad as the Internet has portrayed Web Components? I don't know. But does anyone have an up to date, informed opinion about this?
